We need your help to keep saving lives. As we come to the close of 2016 we are grateful to have been able to help many shelter dogs and cats find homes and get the life saving care needed to find those homes. We've tackled heartworm disease, provided major surgical repairs, taken on a hospice case and worked with dogs and cats to rehabilitate them so that they could find their happily furever after.
As good as we feel about that work, we know that the need for us to continue this work grows each year. Intake numbers in area shelters are incredibly high and shelters need our help to make space for new animals all the time.
- Approximately 7.6 million companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide. Of those, approximately 3.9 million are dogs and 3.4 million are cats.
- Each year, approximately 2.7 million animals are euthanized (1.2 million dogs and 1.4 million cats).
We can only help if we have the funds to support the needs of each animal and volunteers to help. We receive no government funding. We rely on generous friends like you to make a difference in the lives of the animals we rescue and assist. Can you help get us off to a running start in 2017?
